The daughter of an immigrant who "migrated to this country with only $50 and a dream", Sukia is a first-time candidate for council. She's particularly passionate about mental health issues, saying that 20% of our youth suffer from severe mental illness. She has also written about keeping Cambridge as a leader for LGBTQIA+ rights, and is a member of the LGBTQIA+ community herself.

Most recently, she was a Policy Analyst for Sustainable Development International in Nigeria.
